I have to admit, I am a bit shocked with myself and my idea to continue blogging after my Ireland trip. I laughed at the idea of blogs until a friend mentioned that it would be a great way for me to keep friends and family updated while abroad. Well, here I am. Back from Ireland and wanting to continue writing.
I read a novel this summer, "A Homemade Life," by Molly Wizenberg. and was deeply inspired. At the end of the novel, Molly mentions that she started a blog called Orangette, and I have been addicted to her blog ever since. Molly expresses her love for food, cooking, family, and photography on her blog---and I hope to do the same on mine.
I have come to realize how much of my life revolves around food---my family has a love of cooking food and sharing meals together, my mother is a nutrition educator, always keeping us in line and up to date on nutrition, and my sister's recent diagnosis of celiac has caused us to try many new things. In addition to my love of good food, I have a passion for health. I try to incorporate this in the way that I cook and the lifestyle that I live. I hope to blog about my favorite recipes I make often, as well as the new ones I try. I'm sure some other information and stories will appear in my blog, as I often to tend to stray from my original plan. In no way do I claim to be a good cook---but I enjoy myself and I like to think that I am learning. Hopefully my blog will give you some good information and some good laughs. Maybe someday I will be able to bake like Molly Wizenberg.
p.s. I will be changing the name of my blog as soon as I come up with a more fitting title :)
