Exploring...

Today we were let out of class early so Kelsey, Caitlin, and I went exploring in Galway. We spent a few hours on Shoppe Street listening to street music, people watching and taking in the culture. Of course we managed to get in some shopping too :)
We found a jewelry store, called Thomas Dillion. Thomas Dillion was the first person to make a claddagh ring in Ireland. The claddagh ring is an Irish wedding ring that dates back 260 years. Many people around the world wear them, but they originated here in Galway. I bought my very own Irish Claddagh ring today.
We ate dinner at our favorite pub and had "the roast of the day with potatoes and gravy." It was delicious.
Below are some pictures from today. We saw the Spanish Arch and a row of colorful houses which are actually in Claddagh.
We have a four day weekend coming up, as we do not have class on Friday's and Monday is an Irish Bank Holiday. I'm excited to see what adventures we go on!
